Adrian Pearsall

In 1950, Adrian Pearsall graduated from the University of Illinois with a degree in architectural engineering. Shortly after graduating, Pearsall founded Craft Associates with the help of his wife Dorie and brother Richard. Influenced by Vladimir Kagan, Nakashima, and Knoll, Pearsall’s designs became uniquely his own with the introduction of bold shapes, exquisite color combinations, the utilization of fabrics and the juxtaposition of materials. With designs unseen in the mass market of furniture production, Craft Associates shortly became one of the most prominent furniture designers in America during the mid-century “atomic age”. Craft Associates was sold to the Lane Company in 1968. Source: Mid-Century Online
